Ganyudo

Traditional Japanese Desserts at Siam Takashimaya, Bangkok.

Ganyuudou name originates from the Ganyuu clan, a samurai clan which belong to the founder of Ganyuudou. The company is currently led by the 5th generation, Chef Uchida, keeping tradition close to mind, while infusing new creations to his Wagashi. Wagashi is Japanese handmade cake decorated in Japanese traditional style which is the art originating from the era when Kyoto was the capital city. In the recent years, Ganyuudou has opened stores in Tokyo and Bangkok, Thailand. Ganyuudo therefore changes its name to “Ganyudo” for easier pronunciation.

The moon is the inspiration for logo design development. The waning moon feature represents the change to the 5th generation, as well as the use of simple San Serif font, giving lightweighted yet strong and modern character. The font has perfectly been placed next to crescent moon. The selection of light purple from taro to represent the delicate texture of the Japanese soft and sweet dessert.
